Lana's tips

What would you do to make a class interesting? I believe that to make a class riveting one of the following tips might be handy:
- Use humor: it makes the atmosphere more relaxed and helps some students to come to grips with grammar or vocabulary;
- Use bright and memorable examples from your or your acquaintance's experience, but remember they should be topical and never obscene;
- Be practical: draw parallels between the reality that students will face after graduating and the material you cover;
- Be knowledgeable: share with your students more information than it is originally planed;
- Be creative: make your classes unique and enjoyable because of improvised activities and atmosphere;
- Be demanding: students remember both strict and critical teachers and their lessons more than sloppy, slack and mild;
- Visualise: it is a well-known fact that most of the students have visual memory dominating over audial; bright and catchy pictures, tables or examples are remembered more.
